Hi Hub,

Are you sure you did a command-line (Makefile.abi) build of this? I assume
you must have either:

  1. built it by hand, or
  2. done an autoconf build,

because I just checked again, and abi/src/config/require/unix/Makefile
invokes the same libiconv/Makefile.abi that's barfing for me.

I don't doubt that 1.7 *can* build, I'm just pointing out that if you follow
our BUILD.TXT instructions on a fresh CVS checkout:

  cd abi
  make

then the build *will* fail here, and probably not just on Win32.
