AFAIK, our RPM spec file is horribly dated, and most or all of the Linux
distributions have replaced it.
Would someone be willing to grab and analyze what the various downstream
changes have been, to decide which we should merge into our version? (I
suspect that Christian's is one of these.)
Once we know what we want the RPM spec to be, I could help locate the
existing makefiles which use it, if none of the Linux folks can find it.
