Sam, this statement makes me wonder.
Cygwin is a *nix-layer for win32, not just a compiler. Are you stating that
you are personally ripping all support for any platform except
*nix-lookalikes?! I think that's quite contrary to the mission statement for
AbiWord!
GNU, GPL, RMS and FSF are all great TLAs, but this doesn't seem right. I see
this as you're actually proposing to take away rights. Last time I heard
from RMS he still wanted to maintain "the rights".
I might also add that because my "unofficial" builds of AbiWord I've come
across, and fixed, severar serious (like in sooner-or-later SEGV serious)
problems because of my *commercial* Purify. This problems were in XP code.
If Win32 isn't a supported platform (cygwin *isn't* win32, it's a *nix layer
between the code and win32) anymore, maybe we should have a discussion about
if we are *only* to support *nix and their emulators...
I'd really like to know your view on this.
