   So for distribution purposes, are the binaries shipped linked statically
or dynamically? And if dynamically, which ones are expected to be loaded
dynamically?

   I guess my point in asking all this is this: I was under the impression
(from the Makefiles) that psiconv was linked into Abi the way it was in order to
allow those who had it on their system as a shared lib to use it. I was
wondering how this was handled for other libs, because if they're all designed
with the same goal in mind, then psiconv can be linked in just like the
rest of the libs are (ie the way that psiconv is currently linked in isn't the
only way to accomplish said goal.

   Damn that's one confusing paragraph. Hopefully it makes sense to people
other than me.
