Subject: The State of Expat

Well, in the very near future, I'm going to upgrade expat to version
1.95, which builds a shared library itself. That way we don't have
to. Also, this allows the removal of the ABI_OPT_SHARED_EXPAT option
which I just created, since the new version won't be any different
than the version that might be installed.
However, this will break the builds if you don't use our build
system. (Hubert and Mike, this means you). So, my question is, what
would you folks like me to do? The new expat version is basically
ready to go. Would you like me to just check it in, and let you set
up the neccessary build rules?
The new expat is going to build in exactly the same way the psiconv
does now, so that should make your lives easier.
Concerns? Issues? Ideas?
