I was able to fix it by adding /usr/share/AbiSuite/fonts to the font path of the
'xfs' server. The wrapper was adding the fonts to the right X server, but the
remote X server could not access the directory added. I have noticed that other
packages with special fonts (e.g. aplus) add the fonts to the font server config
during install. Typically, X terminals use the same font server as the local
X server, so this works for them all. I'm not sure if this handles the
'locale' logic in the wrapper script, however.
