I can confirm this bug. The release version doesn't appear to be working in
Windows using the make system.

I confirm this too. If it works under debug and not ndebug, it is generally
a memory problem and the difference between DEBUG_NEW and new operators. I
am hopefuly that with Mike Nordell's assistance - we can squash the memory
problems and this issue will go away. But just in case, I will review the
make file systems for windows.
