I mentioned this a month ago and get no response so I thought I will try
again now that you are reworking on the recreating the Ispell hashes.

If I get no response this time I will simply give up.

If you are going to "insist" on using Ispell (really I understand your reasons, but as the Aspell author I have my bias). May I recommend you consider using the Aspell word lists rather than the Ispell ones for the English dictionaries as they are significantly more complete and accurate, and also contains one for Canadian spelling. The down size is they contain a decent deal larger number of words than the ispell dictionaries.

You can get at the word lists by doing the following on a system that has Aspell installed.

aspell dump master american > american.lst aspell dump master british > british.lst aspell dump master canadian > canadian.lst

The order the words are returned is essentially random (the order they appear in the hash tables) so you might want to throw in a sort.

I suggest doing this with the latest version of Aspell. The word lists gets better with each sequential version of Aspell and Aspell .33.0 has a few common words missing due to bugs in the word list creation process.

I could easily send the lists to someone if that will be easier.
