No need to disagree ;-) Basically (and I think it's come out in this
thread), Normal mode is WYSIWYG except for columns, the "borders" of the
page, and a few other things, one being an *option* to "wrap to window"
to avoid the need for horizontal scrolling. (The wrap to window option
doesn't handle everything, for example, it won't wrap wide tables to the
width of the window, but other text in the same document will wrap
within the window.)

I have trouble like that in web browsers and so forth, haven't noticed
it in AbiWord -- I'll have to try reading more.

I'm assuming Web mode in Word 2000 (or wherever you may have heard about
it) is the same as Online mode in Word97. In this mode, two views of
the document are displayed, in two side by side panes. On the left is
the outline of the document, created based on paragraphs with heading
styles, and on the right is a "normal" view of the document (in Normal
mode). The outline can be expanded and collapsed by means of plus and
minus signs in little square boxes (much like a tree view). The outline
is different in quite a few ways from Word's outline mode, for one, you
can never view ordinary text in the outline pane (of online view), you
can only view the headings.

PS: By the way, are you still periodically compiling AbiWord for windows
and putting it on your website? I'd like to download a new copy, but I
archived a bunch of mail including your website address.
