For emacs you need to add KeyBindings="emacs" to the _custom_ scheme
in ~/.AbiSuite/AbiWord.Profile, e.g.:

        <Scheme
                name="_custom_"
                StandardBarVisible="0"
                KeyBindings="emacs"
                />

Which I adore. It's so great to be able to ^A and end up at the start of
the line w/o incidentally reformatting the entire paragraph...
