It would be pretty difficult to make a filter which reads arbitrary LaTeX,
because LaTeX allows you to write TeX, which is a Turing-complete
programming language. Perhaps a more useful starting point would be LyX's
LaTeX input.
LaTeX2HTML uses LaTeX for anything tricky, like formulas.
