    I strongly object to this being removed from the stable release builds, on
    my behalf and on behalf of all the users who will complain if you do.

    Please do remove it from the unstable bleeding edge builds when there is
    at least a reasonable start at an alternative.

    Andrew was right, it was long debated and the developers stongly objected
    to it. Eventually the developers (dom i think) decided a little wrapper
    to rename .rft to .doc automagically was worth it to avoid all the grief
    and answering stupid questions.

    This is not the answer to the problem. Hopefully the password protected
    documents problem has already been fixed or can be fixed without the need
    to do anything rash.
