AbiWord _does_ support GB2312. However, do not try to use ttftool;
you'll have to create your own /usr/share/AbiSuite/fonts/zh-CN/fonts.dir .
This file is already created for you if you use:
Debian GNU/Linux (pre-3.0)
Red Hat Linux 7.3
Thiz Linux Desktop 5.0 or 6.0 (即时 Linux 桌面系统)
and maybe for Mandrake 8.2 too. I'm not sure. :-)
You may be able to find a working AbiWord 0.99.* or 1.0.1 RPM package
by Mandrake or CLE (Chinese GNU/Linux Extension Project) developers.
If not, you may have to make your own fonts/zh-CN/fonts.dir.
If so, try this:
http://people.debian.org/~ygh/zh_CN/html/noframes/node5.html#SECTION00056000000000000000
The actual font names may be slightly different, but the concept is the
same. :-)
Hope this helps,
Anthony Fok
