    Okay - I did this initially in attempt to get it done by the 1.0 release.
    I finished it and got it working, but it was far from stable. Even after
    several hacks for stability, I could crash the Win32 build by quickly
    changing zoom levels. So I didn't bother checking in the changes.
    Hopefully Jeremy will have more luck with it.
