I have implemented a simple class for manipulating a revision
attribute string formed along the lines I have suggested in a
previous mail. Did not add it to the makefiles or anything since it is
not used anywhere, but it should help Martin to get his beer sooner
(I would ask him to share it with me, but knowing how the
Australians are attached to their beer, I am not holding my breath).
