If you had a fix, by all means finish it when you have time. The fact that
ispell dictionaries were ever endian-aware is a historical anomaly that I'd
love to be able forget about. [1]
It'd be really nice if AbiWord users on all platforms could benefit the day
someone generates a useful dictionary for a new locale. While we've come a
long way in our ability to package and provide dictionaries in various
formats, there's no sense in doing extra work at that level if we don't have
to.

the day we can purge even more of our dependencies on gratuitous legacy
variations of the ispell family of file formats. :-)
