I did some very minimal testing of sum1's 2.2 binaries using Win95 and
found no issues. I'd like to eventually have a solid list to run down
of test cases. Here's most of the things I tested, if any one wants to
pick up where I left off and do a more thorough test, please do. Keep
track of extra functionality you test so I can add it to my list, which
is very far from complete.

---spammage to follow---
AbiWord installed with typical, plus a few optional dictionaries
selected in the installer.
ImpExp and Tools plugins both installed with "Full". (GLib installs okay)

AbiWord doesn't crash during startup (often due to plugin issues that
hopefully won't occur anymore).
Typing two or three paragraphs of text works okay, both Uniscribe and
non-Uniscribe
EN-US Spellchecker works okay.
Spellcheck text in a language you installed the optional dictionary for.
Spellcheck text in a language you didn't install the optional dictionary
for (ensure it prompts "no dictionary" properly and there's no crash).
About dialog displays.
Tables are inserted properly.
Tables are undone properly.
Toolbars, status bars, rulers can all be toggled with no issues. Close
active document while toggling them to make sure new documents spawn
with the proper bars/rulers shown.
Help Files work.
Help Files redirect to website if they're missing.
Preferences dialog works. (Requires common controls update on vanilla win95)
Hyperlink can be inserted, editted, launched, removed.
Type some text, highlight it, enter Font dialog. Check that Preview
widget displays properly, line spacing, indentation, alignment all work.
Enable document history, type words and save often. Try to restore a
previous revision of the document.

--this should obviously be expanded to test every plugin
Import and export wordperfect file.
Export an EML file.
Google plugin searches properly.
Freetran plugin translates.
AbiPaint plugin can be used to edit a picture inserted into document.
