Hi,
The ODF standard describes two types of ODF files, one is a zipped file
consisting of various XML files, but the more simple variant is just an
XML file. See "single XML" or "Single OpenDocument XML File" in the
OpenDocument v1.2 specification:
http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/OpenDocument-v1.2-part1.html
Since I am writing an ODF backend for AsciiDoc, which in its purest form
creates such an Flat XML ODF file, I was looking for other ODF consumers
to test the output and rendering of the documents I produce.
I noticed that abiword does not support those Flat XML ODF files, often
used with extension .fodt, instead of .odt. They are very useful in
debugging and experimenting with ODF, and with ODF support already
included, it shouldn't be hard to implement.
Are there any plans to support Flat XML ODF files in the future ?
Kind regards,
