Ouch. I wish you would have sent me mail before committing this.
Yesterday I simply changed the XLFD for the getDefaultFont() to
be very generic (something like adobe-helvetica-r-*-*-*-100-*-*-*-*...
instead of adobe-helvetica-r-normal-*-*-[strict stuff]).
I was hoping I could keep only this change around and see if this solved
everyone's problems, before adding more code to fallback to other fonts.
I guess I should have sent that commit message out separately.
