Two questions on compiling

Sorry for these probably-newbie questions. I'm attempting to compile
stock AbiWord on Redhat 6.0, and I have two questions:
1) I'm getting 506 warnings when compiling- is this normal, or a sign I
screwed something up?
2) In compiling, I error out with the message:

make[4]: *** No rule to make target
`/home/bhurt/code/wp/abi-0.7.4/src/Linux_2.2.5-15_i386_OBJ/obj/libAbi_libwv.a',
needed by
`/home/bhurt/code/wp/abi-0.7.4/src/Linux_2.2.5-15_i386_OBJ/bin/AbiWord_d'.
Stop.

This is in .../src/wp/main/unix. I do have the wv library- both the
source code (in a sibling directory) and installed (having done a make
install). Is there something more I need to do?
