Why don't you have someone in the academic field make a grammar checker, instead of Microsoft which mainly caters to businesses. (The only one that is any good in it is the formal, and you got to check the custom) Or you could have a grammar information/basic rules, that is, in a help file. Just for those who do not have as extensive education, that is.
