I had the same issue. What I ended up doing is just
downloading the tar'ed and compressed package and put
the files in the correct place. Read the readme file
and all should be well. If I remember rigth there is
actaully an install script that does everything for
you. You just might want to view the compressed files
so that if you need to delete the pacakge at a later
date you will knwo what to delete.
