    did you spellcheck the document?

    there were some minor problems with the spellchecker, it was inserting
    incorrect characters ^G. the xml importer chokes on these non characters.

    if you open the .abw file in text editor and remove
    <ignoredwords>
    <iw></iw>
    </ignoredwords>

    that should fix it.

    if that does not work could you please
    add the document to bugzilla

    you really dont want to use the Abiword File format.
