    Looks like the same problem I had a year or so ago. It's explained in the
    abiword FAQ page.

    The solution is to log in a root (or su) and set the font path as such:
    # /usr/sbin/chkfontpath -a /usr/share/AbiSuite/fonts

    That worked for me.
