dear sirs,
I am amazed at not getting any help in installing abiword-1.0.2! I use
Mandrake 8.1 and I installed the new version of AbiWord when I
discovered that I could not use greek fonts, or even roman
transliteration fonts, and there were no clear instructions on how to
copy TTF fonts from windows( I have also windows on my machine). I have
now abiword-1.0.2 but also a problem:
a)at compression the files were copied in home directory
b) because I lacked some libraries I had to install(that's the reason
I think), abiword-1.0.2 is now present in /usr/local/AbiSuite and also
in usr/local/share/AbiSuite
c) looking up the X11 file, I find out that in XFT file there is a
wrong path for the fonts
d) I don't know how to launch Abiword, I have use the shell file and
an icon on the bureau but is that the right method
f) I still get a message of not loading the Unix fonts!
g) because of lack of installation instructions, I did not disinstall
abiword0.9.2 before hand!
Now what to do? please advice!
j.vdr
ps i see running through the files that there is lots of
possibilities, even for russian! but in practice?
