I guess I was surprised that AbiWord could not read an HTML document that it
just created.

Others have indicated that perhaps AbiWord is not the right tool for editing
HTML. I guess I'll have to continue to use WordPad [gasp!} at home [on my
ancient Pentium with 75 Mbytes of disk space left so I can't install much in
the way of real web authoring tools].
