Typographical quotes and dashes

Dear abiword users,

Am I the only one who has trouble inserting so-called typographical quotes
and dashes (that is, different opening and closing quotes, and different
hyphen, en- and em-dash characters) in Abiword?

I have not been able to find any way of doing this.

Am I overlooking something obvious, or does nobody else need this feature?
