xfs and abiword

I have Red Hat -7.1 running with Abiword version 0.9.2. I have installed
some Indic fonts for xfs and they are available in applications, say gedit.
But I do not find a way of using them in Aboword. This is in contrast to the
Windows version where the installed font is available to Abiword.

I would like to have the fonts installed vis xfs ( which is default in RH
Linux) to be available in Abiword.
