Hello,
there is one thing (aside from tables support :-) that I would love
to see in Abiword 1.2 which is support for 'microspacing'.
What I mean is the ability to offset characters by single dots
(ideally printer resolution, but some other small unit may work just
as well). This way very sophisticated typographical features can be
achieved, for example in very large text (posters) and to create text
that climbs or is even rotated (poems).
I used to work sometimes with a wordprocessor called Papyrus that had
this particular feature and really loved it. It would set Abiword
apart from the crowd. And when the display routines are being
rewritten, it is best to consider this to avoid having to rewrite
them all the time.
Are there others that would love to have this feature?
Erlend.
