Successful compile, but where's the executable?

I'm sorry if this is obvious, but I'm new to Linux and software compilation.
I'm running Mandrake 8.2, and I downloaded the source tarball to
$HOME/download/incoming. From there, I compiled the software according to the
instructions on the Linux/Unix download page (unpack, su to root account,
make). Since I didn't get any compilation error messages, I assume it worked.
And now I have no idea where the binary (or binaries) for abiword are! Using
locate and find to search for 'abi' and 'abiword' turned up nothing. I've
also searched through the directory tree where I performed the 'make'
command, and I still can't find an executable. What's up?

    Thanks in advance.
