Unfortunately you've run into a backward compatibility
problem. AbiWord makes extensive use of a library called iconv. This is a
part of the glibc library which is fundamental to running programs on
Linux. Some time after redhat 7.0 was released the maintainers of iconv
changed its programming interface. So unfortunately AbiWord 1.0.1 won't
run correctly on a redhat 7.0 distribution unless someone makes a static
binary.
Since no one seems interested in doing this, your only other option is to
upgrade to a later redhat.
