    Hello David.

    As an experiment, I have downloaded Abiword-GTK, fonts, and spelling RPMs
    again and installed them into Mandrake 8.1.

    Abiword works both as root and as user. So it looks as though Abiword does not
    like SuSE8 for some reason. But why, I have no idea! My SuSE8 has the latest
    upgrades installed via YOU.

    I have read your postings in the archives. Thanks for pointing them out.
