Like I said before, it is very possible that your AbiWord was built
with ispell support and not pspell support. If you're unsure, you can
do:
ldd /path/to/AbiWord_d | grep spell
if you see aspell or pspell in there, the aspell dictionaries should
work. If you see nothing, then it was compiled with our builtin ispell
support. Grab a new source tree and configure --with-pspell
This is most likely a Debian problem (one related to whomever built
your 1.0.3+cvs deb) and not an AbiWord one.
