I've searched as best I could through the archives for some insight, but
haven't dug up anything related to this problem:

For a couple of weeks now I've had AbiWord 1.0.2 installed on a 400Mhz AMD
running Win95B., plenty of RAM & disk space. AbiSuite seemed to install
OK, and AbiWword.exe comes up when called; but when I'm in the program,
often (not always) one keystroke or another causes tothe progran to shut
down. (Changing fonts did it for a while, but then stopped; now changing
margins does it, as (sometimes) trying to save a file.) So far I haven't
been able to reproduce the crashes at will.

When one of these crashes occurs, a file named <name>.<ext>.CRASHED is
saved, saving all work up to the crash. .CRASHED files are easily opened
and re-saved, and so far I haven't seen the instability with them (but I
haven't yet tried to drive a .CRASHED file into the ground, being too busy
    just getting on with work.)

AbiSuite is installed on a slave disk, and I notice that the installation
program nevertheless puts in C:\windows\AbiSuite, which contains
    AbiWord.profile & custom.dic .These are not copied into H:\...\AbiSuite\
where the rest of the installation resides. I don't know if this has
anything to do with the problem.

    I did not have this problem with previous vers. (setup_...-0961 & 0963.exe;
I can't recall the ver. numbers offhand)

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this problem in Windows, or how I
might begin to track down the cause? tia -- ed
