    Hi,

I recently compiled Abiword 2.0.2 under Linux. In this connection, I
would like to ask a couple of questions about the use of fonts with
    Abiword:

    (1) What directories does Abiword search for fonts? And can one add a
directory for Abiword to search? (On my system, Abiword seems to
look in /usr/X11R6/lib/fonts/Type1 but not in
/usr/X11R6/lib/fonts/local even though I have installed type 1
        fonts in the latter.)

    (2) When I start Abiword, it indicates that Times New Roman is the
selected font. However, Times New Roman doesn't actually appear in
the pull-down font menu, which is not surprising, given that I
don't have this font on my system. But why, then, does Abiword
(mistakenly) indicate that Times New Roman is the selected font on
        a new document?

I would be grateful for any advice.

    Thank you,
    Christopher
