    Esteemed Abiword helper person:

I am running Red Hat Linux 7.1.

A few days ago I downloaded and installed the following rpm's:

         abiword-gtk-bidi-1.0.3-1.i386.rpm
         abiword-fonts-1.0.3-1.noarch.rpm
         abiword-clipart-1.0.3-1.noarch.rpm

When I invoked abiword the following message was displayed:

"Abiword was not able to add its fonts to the X font path.
This does not mean that there is anything wrong with your
system, but you will need to modify your font path manually.
Please see "Unix Font Path Problem" in FAQ section of
the Abiword help file for more detailed information, including
instructions on how to turn off this warning."

I disabled the warning per instructions in the FAQ's.

My problem is this: Often when I invoke the spellchecker weird and
unintelligible fonts are displayed in the dialog windows. The spell checker
does work in that clicking on "Change" will correct the misspelled word to a
correctly spelled word (sometimes the word that's wanted or to another word if
there are several unintelligible options). Also typing a word into the
"Change to:" field works. If the spell checker works initially the display
becomes unintelligible when the first word is corrected and the spell checker
remains broken to the end of the abiword session.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanx
