Hello,
I've downloaded and installed abiword 1.0.1. on a Suse 8.0 using gtk1.2
I've also downloaded and installed the spell checkers:
giosetti@linux:/usr/share/AbiSuite/dictionary> ls -l
insgesamt 5868
-rw-rw-r-- 1 giosetti users 2158648 Apr 16 2002 british.hash
-rw-rw-r-- 1 giosetti users 11 Apr 16 2002 british.hash-encoding
-rw-rw-r-- 1 giosetti users 2332612 Apr 16 2002 deutsch.hash
-rw-rw-r-- 1 giosetti users 11 Apr 16 2002 deutsch.hash-encoding
-rw-rw-r-- 1 giosetti users 1485828 Apr 16 2002 francais.hash
-rw-rw-r-- 1 giosetti users 11 Apr 16 2002 francais.hash-encoding
However on booting abiword I get the error message that dictionary DE_de couldn't be loaded (Fr-fr and EN-gb neither).
I've scanned the archive but didn't find something that could give me a hint. I read that aspell ought to be installed. Aspell is on my machine at /usr/local/lib/aspell/
What do I need to do to make the spellchecker work? Do I need to set symlinks from aspell to /usr/share/AbiSuite/dictionary?
Best,
Jost
