odd bug with primes from Symbol (under Linux)

    Hi,

I've recently begun to use abiword for more serious work (such as class
handouts) and I've encountered a few odd problems. I say "odd" because
they do seem odd. I'll mention one in this message. This problem
arises for me in abiword 1.0.2 and 1.0.4 under Linux. Take a minimal
    file containing the following,

    x', x"

where the primes ' (single prime) and " (double prime) are inserted from
the Symbol font (the rest is from Times, but this isn't crucial). If I
save the file (as .abw) and then print it to a (PostScript) file, both
prime symbols turn into a degree symbol. This is the case both when the
PostScript file viewed by gv (using ghostscript 7.06) and when it is
printed out on a PostScript printer. Most other characters from the
Symbol font seem to print correctedly (though I haven't tested them
all), but it is mildly annoying that the primes don't work.

Perhaps this is a well-known problem, but I thought that I'd mention it
    just in case.

    Thank you,
    Ch. Pinon
