    Hi,

I'm a newbie trying out Abiword (v 1.05) for the first time (in winxp) and
very much want to like it. However I've come across what are probably
simple problems already. I've tried to 'search' for the answers but am
probably not asking the right questions so am appealing to human help 'out
    there'.

Firstly, I'm trying to create a simple document with three columns.
Sometimes symbols appear beside words (small rectangles in my case. I've
previously reduced the winxp symbol table, so these symbols may not be the
normal ones.) I presume they are layout symbols possibly connected to
'enter' or 'tab' but I cannot exactly reproduce the same symbols each time
so can't be more informative. The layout certainly gets screwed up if I
delete them. So how can I make sure the symbols don't appear so that 'what
I see is what I get' when I eventually print? (I'm viewing in print layout
and invisible layout marks are not selected.)

Secondly, I occasionally get notification that the US dictionary was not
loaded. I know this, I have the uk one in and have deleted the US one. How
can I stop this notification appearing? No offence to U.S. speakers out
there. In my job, I'm required to write U.K. english :)

Thirdly, whenever I try to change margin sizes in Page Setup I get
notification that the margins selected are too large to fit on the page,
even if I keep to the default settings and not change anything, i.e. while
just viewing the margin settings! Erm, is there a way to change margin
    sizes in Page Setup?

Many thanks (in advance) for any response,

    Guy
