The problem here (I think) is that his labels are many-to-a-sheet, and
abi AFAIK replaces ALL instances of some_field with some_var per doc
    instance when merging.
    Solutions for using abi:
Sort the labels and divise (within the csv or whatnot) into rows of
$number_per_sheet. Use a table with distinct merge fields and naturally
    save a template.
Ask dom to code a progressive_samefield_merge pref and method so that
given such values, abi can be told to just move on to the next set
within a given doc's instance instead of making 36 labels for Billy Joe.

If abi's behaviour has changed and she does always progress these days,
    this mail is relatively useless.

I still haven't gotten around to screenshooting for these auxiliary
merge docs which I think I deleted a couple weeks ago. Perhaps soon.

    Best regards
    -MG
