problem with printing to file (Abword 2.0.7, Linux)

Hi,

I'm experimenting with Abiword 2.0.7 on Linux (self-compiled, no Gnome).

I've noticed the following problem. Abiword sets the default margins to
be 1 inch on all sides (I'm using A4 paper, no headers or footers).
However, if I print to a file and view the resulting PostScript file
with gv, the top margin seems to be significantly reduced, by at least
1/2 inch. This also has the consequence the lower margin is
significantly larger than 1 inch (it looks like at least 1 1/2
inches)---in other words, the whole printed page seems to be shifted
upwards. (The problem remains if I then create a PDF file from the
PostScript file with ps2pdf.)

It's hard for me to imagine that I'm the first to notice this (to my
mind, rather serious) problem but I would be grateful for any advice.

Thank you,
Christopher Pinon

P.S. The Windows version of Abiword doesn't seem to have this problem.
