Hello.
Star Office was the first Linux word processor I used.
Then I started using OpenOffice.org when it was released.

Then I found AbiWord - compiles a hell of a lot faster, starts up a hell
of a lot faster, crashes less often, uses the same font engine as the
rest of my apps, integrates well with gnome, just plain sexier and
better.

Maybe OO.o meets your needs better.
It certainly does not meet my needs better.

Oh, and yes - I have tried recent OO.o

I still use OO.o - when I want to test hardware, I have it build OO.o 3
times in a row. No errors, I'm pretty confident that the hardware is OK.
That's all I use it for.
