Thank you very much for your prompt advice. I really do appreciate it.

Dom, your insert->column break gives me exactly what I need. I can edit text
in one column and the text in the other moves up or down to follow it.

Alan and Martin. Your ideas of making tables is excellent, and I will
certainly experiment with them. It may look better for future presentation
documents, especially if I include borders, horizantal lines, and so on.

I look forward to trying the new 2.4 version. Abiword is superb! I think it
beats OpenOffice Writer and KWord.
