Any change at all will be considered an alteration even if it might seem
like nothing has changed so it is likely you are changing something
without necessarily realising.
Also because of the way the Abiword Microsoft Word exporter works and as
there is a small risk not all information will be presevered (like certain
types of embedded files) we must insist you "Save As".
Please describe in more detail what Operating System you are using (and
be as specific as possible about what version) what version of
Abiword you are using and exactly what kind of file you are looking
at then hopefully we will be able to clarify what is going on.
