Probably for the same reason you can't import them in iWork, AppleWorks,
MS-Word.
Dom explained quite well. No documentation, higher priorities, and some
other issues. I'd rather spend time reverse engineering the AppleWorks
or iWork file format.
Now, since you appear to be one of their customers, maybe you should
request them access to the file format documentation. At least that
would be a good start...
