Should you use Windows XP, for instance, you would wish to chose
ISO-8859-1 as your character set and US-International keyboard
layout. This will allow you to use the right Alt key in
combination with the letter you wish to accentuate, for instance,
as I am now doing for you: á é í ó ú Á É Í Ó Ú.
US-International keyboard layout gives you this versatility for
use with most European latin languages.
