Yup. This time it worked -- after a fresh install of FC5 to
replace the upgrade from FC4, and a fresh update. I'm guessin something
also caught up in whichever repo yum wass accessing before, or else it
accessed a different one this time.
Btw, in case anyone else yet hits this trouble in the course of an
upgrade from FC4 to FC5, another guess -- I don't know, but wish I'd
thought to try -- is to do "rpm -qa | grep fc4" followed by yum remove and
yum install of anything it hits, *right after* the upgrade and before
the usual update following an install or an upgrade ; and also "rpm -qa |
grep rpmnew" immediately after the first update.
I'm thinking, if only I'd done that, I might've been spared not
only the abiword trouble, but also the whole fresh install ...
