Thanks. "normal.awt" worked, Win 7 at
C:\Program Files (x86)\AbiWord\templates\normal.awt
Am perusing other templates.
Still pondering the HELP, seeking "user-specific."
TBD, how well exports to word.doc are accepted by
s/w expecting MS version.
