That explains it. I'll try to get the update .deb file, I'm sure it exists somewhere.
I can't understand why they have an old Abiword file with problems in the repository esp. for the newest Xubuntu release. Abiword is the default word processor for Xubuntu - included when you install...and I like it a lot.
I'm going on the Xubuntu (Ubuntu flavor with Xfce) mail list to report this and ask them update it.
