I've modified it and it works well, I'm using Abiword 2.6.4 on Debian GNU/Linux
and after going to "Create and modify styles..." and making your desired changes
it reads
<s followedby="Normal" name="s1" basedon="Normal" type="P" props="font-weight:bold; font-family:Times New Roman; margin-top:0pt; font-style:italic; margin-left:0pt; widows:2; font-variant:normal; text-indent:0in; margin-bottom:0pt; text-decoration:none; bgcolor:transparent; margin-right:0pt; color:000000; font-size:16pt; line-height:1.0; text-align:left; font-stretch:normal"/>
and it looks correct when using it. I guess your Abiword is not saving your
changes ¿?
